Wow, what an amazing week this has been! Of course, it’s always exciting traveling to market and sitting in all those fashion shows highlighting new and upcoming prom fashions. However, my trip was a little fast and furious and it all started with a red-eye flight on Tuesday evening to Atlanta. Now mind you, I cannot sleep on airplanes, so this trip was like flying to Europe. Once you land, the sun is up and so are you….for another day! 24 hours with no sleep….which explains why I almost fell asleep during one of the evening fashion shows with music blaring. Can you imagine? Well, I managed to power through with two quick days of runway shows, parties, dinners and other fun celebrations which all resulted in some beautiful gowns soon to be delivered to our salon.
So what is on trend for this prom season? Well, think of the colors Pink, Blush, White, Navy and Yellow for starters. Off the shoulder gowns are also on trend, as well as velvet fabrics and lots of fringe. Think dresses with an attitude! If you are loving romantic florals and ruffles, you’re in luck. Almost every fashion house had those gowns strutting down the runway. Ice colored gowns are cool this season (get it? LOL) and jumpsuits are making an effort to become the new “thing”. Okay, I’m still trying to embrace the jumpsuits, as long as they’re done well. Slim leg…meh…..flared leg….maybe? I would love to know your thoughts on this.
So, what is my thought process while I’m at market? How do I determine what will work best for my store? Well, for starters, it’s all about YOU! I understand how important these events are in your life. I also understand what it takes to make you feel your absolute best. You want a gown that is just as unique and special as you are. I get that. I’m looking for good design, something that is cut in flattering proportions for your body and compliments your eyes, hair and skin tone. A design that fits your personality and transforms you. Trust me. I am there supporting you, encouraging you, and empowering you. I have your back. It’s my job to help you look AMAZING.
So, now it’s bridal’s turn. I’m off to Las Vegas next week for The Knot’s Couture Bridal Fashion Week where I will be viewing all of the new Spring 2018 bridal fashions. I would love to know what you’d like to see in our store next season. Feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts!
